Right Now SATX

Write Now was established by Mark Petrie in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Petrie grew up in Phoenix, AZ where he attended both public and charter high schools. His life long passion for writing and learning is at the center of all Write Now services.

Mr. Petrie graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science. He then went on to the University of New Orleans where he earned a Masters of Arts in English Literature studies. While at UNO, Mr. Petrie began teaching Freshman Composition and working as administrative staff in both the Graduate School and the English Department. This administrative experience gave him extra insight into the nature of academic institutions and the admission process.

Mr. Petrie continued to teach English and Literature courses at the university level, as well as pursue a PhD in English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. In 2015, Mr. Petrie left UL-L to start a career as an English teacher at BASIS Charter School in San Antonio. Mr. Petrie held many roles at BASIS over a period of eight years, helping establish his BASIS campus as one of the most successful schools in Texas. In 2018, Mr. Petrie furthered his academic expertise by completing a Masters of Education with a focus in Gifted and Talented education. This experience and expertise enables Write Now to serve students at all levels, from intervention to advanced studies.

Mr. Petrie is a life long writer with numerous publications of poetry, stage scripts, and short fiction. Throughout college, Mr. Petrie worked closely with numerous established authors and publishing companies.
